  • "RESPECT" - Focus on Diversity
An Ohio-based brewing company discovered that it takes a unique set of skills to educate employees about diversity and respecting differences, and that it's especially difficult if trainers bring their own “baggage” to the process. IRI helped the client remove diversity training roadblocks as well as address organizational issues that went far beyond diversity.

  • Empower Employees by Giving Them A Voice
By empowering and communicating more effectively with employees, one of Michigan's largest nonprofits cut employee turnover in half, increased financial performance, boosted job satisfaction and increased compensation and job security for employees.

  • Executive Team Development
A Michigan-based, eight-hospital system that employs more than 18,500 staff members and 3,000 physicians had gone through mergers and acquisitions that led to new executive leadership, including a new president and CEO. IRI helped the client become more effective by blending new talent with the longer-serving executives, then getting everyone on common ground.

  • Financial Institution Grows with Bold New Business Plan
A successful, mid-sized credit union with a new CEO was under-performing with a “we've always done it this way” culture. Membership grew 20 percent and assets under management increased 44 percent with IRI-supported corporate restructuring that fostered a sales culture, redesigned core processes, training and staff development.

  • Government Performance Planning and Development
The government of one of the country's largest manufacturing cities improved peak performance by increasing the clarity of performance expectations and outcomes, building more effective work relationships and aligning employee performance with organizational goals.

  • Healthcare Leadership Academy
A major metropolitan healthcare membership organization partnered with IRI to create a 10-module Healthcare Leadership Academy for its 150 members. Managers and supervisors who attended the academy reported significant improvement in their leadership abilities, including communications skills, coaching employees, setting expectations, providing feedback and managing change.

  • Process Improvement Cuts Bed Turnaround 75%
IRI helped a multiple-Magnet, major metropolitan hospital reduce the elapsed time between one patient being discharged from a room and another being admitted to the same room by 75%, eliminating tremendous amounts of wasted time and improving customer satisfaction.

  • Process Improvement by Working in Teams
Known around the world for its quality and customer service, a luxury carmaker adopted an IRI-designed continuous improvement process for its Parts Distribution Center. The changes reduced errors and resulted in savings of 25.5 work days per year.

  • Rapid Resolution to Organizational Issues
A 577-bed south Florida hospital with 32,000 admissions annually was faced with growing dissatisfaction among employees. An Employee Advisory Group was formed to obtain employee input and make necessary changes, resulting in greater employee satisfaction as well as a more informed staff that feels more engaged and vested in organizational strategy.

  • Shared Governance Improves Patient Care
A 950-bed hospital provided patient care equal to or better than any comparable facility. Despite this clinical excellence, nurses believed that care could be even better if their ideas were sought and listened to. With 46 "unit practice councils" that IRI helped the hospital create and manage, the client improved staff satisfaction, patient care and patient satisfaction.

  • Supervisors Academy Provides Empowerment and Organizational Change
The leadership of one of the country's 10 largest cities saw the need to improve performance and management processes, and to raise the level of individual initiative and accountability among city workers. IRI helped create an integrated training initiative that enabled supervisors to have greater decision-making responsibility without waiting for more direction.

  • Team-Based Approach to Structured On-the-Job Training
To avoid serious operational and safety issues, one of Canada's largest petrochemical plants required on-the-job training for a biennial event at the plant. IRI's Structured On-the-Job Training model ensured that employees understood what to do and why; the event was completed without incident.

  • University Puts Improving Process Performance to Work
A premier technical and professional university with more than 12,500 students, 850 faculty and 500 staff was using a cumbersome, paper-based hiring process requiring more than 110 steps to complete. IRI's Improving Process Performance program helped the University cut time-to-hire, lowered cost-per-hire, and increased the quality of hires.
